Which AI girlfriend apps use your chats to train AI?
We searched all 46 privacy policies for anything about training. 13 say what you write helps train their AI. Only 5 promise not to, or only with your OK. 26 don't mention it.
What you tell an AI girlfriend is usually more personal than anything you'd post anywhere. Training data can stay around for a long time, some companies have staff read samples, and "anonymized" doesn't help much when the personal details are the whole conversation.
Apps that say no, or only with your OK (5)
Chub AI No"your Private Characters and Chats will not ever be distributed to a third party, unencrypted, used for training an AI model"
DreamGen Only if you opt in"We do not use your data […] to train or improve AI models unless you explicitly opt in."

xchar No"We do not use your conversations with AI characters for training or improvement purposes."
xeve.ai No"They are not sold, not used for advertising, and not used by us to train AI models."
Apps that say yes (13)
Some call it "improving our services", some say they anonymize first. Still counts.
Candy AI"train and develop our AI models and moderation technologies"
Chai"We use personal data derived from your in-app conversations with chatbots to enhance and fine tune the artificial intelligence models"
Character.AI"how we collect and use information to develop our large language models"
The policy points to separate regional disclosures for how user information is used to develop its models.
DarLink AI"we might train our AI on anonymized conversation data to improve response quality."
Dondi AI"This processing may include: AI model training and improvement"
Dream Companion"We may use user data to continuously improve our AI and services. This includes analyzing interactions to refine AI responses"
HeraHaven"We may use Content to provide, maintain, develop, and improve our Services"

Joi AI"To improve the quality of text and voice messages of virtual friend and to develop its AI."
Lovescape"grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, modify, distribute, and display this content to provide and improv"
Terms give it a licence to use what you create to provide and improve the service.
Nomi AI"Upon deletion, any information in our training archives would no longer be attributable to you."
Keeps "training archives"; after you delete your account they are no longer tied to you.
Pi"develop and train our AI models / large language models that power our Services"
Replika"collecting and immediately anonymizing user feedback, and small portions of Messages and Content data to train our proprietary safety algorithms, enhance chatbot performance"
Romantic AI"anonymous data generated from your interactions with AI chatbots may be collected and used to improve and train Romantic AI models."
Somewhere in between (2)
Blush AI Not by partners"We do not permit these services to use your data for their own purposes, including training their AI models."
Third-party AI providers may not train on your data; its own use is not addressed.
Polybuzz With your consent"photos/storage: to collect the photos that you wish to upload and display to other users, or train our AI algorithm"
Asks consent to use uploaded photos to train its algorithm.
Apps that don't mention it (26)
Anima AI, Aroused AI, CrushOn.AI, DreamGF, Eva AI, FantasyGF, GirlfriendGPT, HeyGF, Infatuated AI, Intimate, Janitor AI, JuicyChat, Kindroid, Kupid AI, Nastia, Nectar AI, NovelAI, OurDream AI, Paradot, Promptchan AI, Secrets AI, SoulFun, SpicyChat, Sugarlab AI, Swipey AI, Talkie AI.
Not mentioning it isn't a no. A lot of these policies let the company "use content to provide and improve the services", which can include training without ever using the word. If it matters to you, email them and ask. Keep the reply.
What you can do
- Pick an app that says no in writing, if this one matters to you.
- Look for an opt-out in the settings. A few apps have one.
- Leave out the stuff that identifies you: full name, address, employer, face pics.
- Delete old chats you'd hate to see leaked. How to delete your data.
